Inspiron 24 5000 problem

Hi all,

Just purchased three units of the inspiron 5000 24' all in one units. Runs on Windows 10 pro version.

During the setter up stage, Two of them keep crashing with blue screen message says device power state failure. Rang the support, done the diagnostic , no problem found. The third one can't find the audio device on the second day. It shows no audio device is installed.

Is this a known problem? Dell is offered to replace the units. But frustrated as one of the unit was already a replacement unit. It creates a quite a bit delay of my IT upgrading process.

TIA

Inspiron 24-5477/27-7777, device power state failure

The fault is the ISST (Intel Smart Sound Technology) driver pushed by Windows Updates. Perform the un-installation of the ISST driver in Windows Safe Mode

• To access the Safe Mode, press Windows + I on your keyboard to open Windows Settings, if that doesn’t work, Click Windows button, then select Settings
• Select Update & Security > Recovery
• Click Advanced Startup, then select Restart Now
• After the PC restarts to the Choose an Option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart
• Select “Troubleshoot”
• Select “Advanced Options”
• Select “Startup Settings” (you may need to click on ‘See more Recovery Options’ to see this option)
• Select “Restart” and the system will reboot immediately
• System will reboot into Startup Settings, press 5 to enter into Safe Mode with Networking
• Right click mouse button on taskbar and select “Device Manager”
• Uninstall ISST driver under “System Devices”
• Save and restart the PC after the driver uninstalled
• Once the drivers are uninstalled, download the latest BIOS and Audio driver. Follow the instructions to complete the BIOS and Audio driver
